Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring?
A notebook and pen, water bottle and some snacks (we will take a short break mid-session).
What should I wear?
Closed-toed shoes, comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting messy. We provide gloves for your convenience.
Do I need to know anything about cars before taking a class?
Not at all. Our programs are built for total beginners. No experience needed, just curiosity.
What's the difference between the single workshop and the 5-week course?
The 3-hour workshop is the perfect starting point. The 5-week course goes deeper into each topic, with more hands-on practice, more time with each skill, and the chance to work on your own car (depending on availability).
Do I need to bring my own car?
No. You don't need to own a car to sign up for any of our classes. We use staff vehicles for demos, so you'll always have something to practice on.
I own an electric vehicle, does the beginner auto maintenance curriculum apply to me?
Yes, our curriculum is relevant for EV, hybrid and gas vehicles.
I don't own a car or my own tools. Can I still participate?
Yes! We provide everything you need during the session, and everything you learn will apply to any vehicle you own in the future.
Who teaches the workshops?
Our instructors are licensed professionals, each with 10+ years of experience. Our car maintenance basics instructors have each taught auto mechanics to hundreds of students at every skill level. They make learning practical, welcoming, and genuinely fun.
Can you host a private workshop for my group or team?
Yes! We can arrange a private session tailored to your needs. We'll come to schools, community centres, workplaces, dealerships, auto shops or even private garages. Contact us to inquire.
How much does a workshop cost?
The 3-hour Beginner Car Maintenance Workshop is $129 (plus a $3.23 service fee). We also offer a Bring-a-Friend ticket for $188 total ($94/person) if you want to learn together. Pricing for the 5-week course is available on that workshop's event page.
Where in Toronto are your workshops held?
Workshops run at multiple locations across Toronto, including 1900 Davenport Rd and 49 Bogart Ave. Check each workshop's event page for the specific location and date.
Can I purchase a workshop as a gift for someone else?
We don't currently offer gift cards through our site, but course credits can be purchased for other individuals. Contact us to arrange your gift card.
Do you offer workshops outside Toronto?
Right now we operate exclusively in Toronto, though we're happy to travel to your workplace, school, or community centre for private group sessions within the GTA. Just contact us to inquire.
Can participants under age 16 join?
Yes, provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
How many people per session?
Sessions are capped at 16 participants to ensure an enjoyable, hands-on experience.
Is your site wheelchair accessible?
Workshops located at 49 Bogart Ave or 1900 Davenport Rd. are wheelchair accessible.
What is your refund policy?
Refunds are available up to 14 days before the session, excluding ticket processing fees. If you are unable to make it, we will attempt to include you in a future session, subject to availability. You are also welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend. Just let us know by email.
Probably not! We welcome learners from all walks of life. Our sessions tend to be a mix!
